The Oceanic Victor floating platform is a unique marine facility that encourages real hands on learning for the kids of South Australia by creating a safe but exciting learning platform where students are engaged with the marine world in a way that has never been showcased previously.

On land, we offer walking tours of iconic Granite Island and lunches at The Island Cafe.

Aquarium Tour (2 hours)

Spend two hours exploring our unique in-sea Aquarium with our team of dedicated and passionate marine biologists.

Venture out to the platform via luxury catamaran and upon arrival, students are fitted in warm wetsuits, gloves, booties, snorkels and masks. Then the fun really begins! Suitable for all ages and swimming abilities, our team members ensure each student is able to interact and feed the magnificent Southern Bluefin Tuna.

Students can then venture to the inner pool where they cuddle our resident Port Jackson Sharks and feed a diverse range of fish. Our structure has created an artificial reef so it is common migratory fish enter the aquarium to seek refuge from predators and sneak in a little feed!

The underwater observatory tunnel is the perfect place to view life beneath the waves and students can get up close and personal while staying dry. Students can then spot the Big Travelli, Australian Salmon, Snapper and Kingfish.

There are two Touch Tank pools on board with starfish (one spanning as big as 40cm!), sea urchins, Flathead, crayfish, a juvenile Port Jackson Shark and hermit crabs. This is a great opportunity to pick the brains of a marine biologists and learn more about the marine park in which the platform is located.

Our team are all First Aid accredited and have their Working with Children clearances.

“One behalf of the Victor Harbor Special Education Sub School we would like to say a huge thank you to Oceanic Victor staff for providing us with such a unique and meaningful learning experience for our students…. The staff at Oceanic Victor were fabulous when ensuring ALL of our students were included in the excursion by accommodating our students with vision impairments as well as significant sensory difficulties.

The expertise of the marine biologists and marine doctors on board the ship was incredibly informative, and their passion really inspired our students. Being able to access this type of educational excursion is such a fantastic and unheard-of learning experience for all students and community members. Our students continue to talk about the amazing learning experiences they received from the Oceanic Victor staff.” Morgan Hill
